First visit in many years. 5 minor cavities. Need one crown. No root canal or any of that shit. I will take it, I thought it was going to be a lot worse.

Perhaps Spike Lee’s next film should be a ghost story.
The director told Baird Jones at the Ray Ban party at Guastavino’s
“I live in Gypsy Rose Lee’s old house and when we moved in my son saw her ghost. He told my wife Tyson who said ‘No you don’t see her, you don’t see her.’ But I absolutely believe it was Gypsy Rose Lee. I believe in ghosts. Hell yes! My son said she was a nice ghost I guess because we both have the same last name. But she made only that one appearance. She has not come back.”

The opening was the scene - something funny happened there - a few people bumped into the light switch and - when the light dimmed - the reflection of the wings’ phosphoresence disappeared - it requires MASSIVE juice to light the pieces so that they mimic stained glass (as they are patterned to appear like church windows). Low light = dreary objects and a room lighting one of these works would kill any other artwork nearby - All about Hirst yet again !

So i had to jury some art on the West Side today - Gallery 825 had artists submit centerpieces of tables for the ArtScene 25th Anniversary bash.
There has to be one artwork, pretty much a sculptural object, as the centerpiece for each of the 55 tables at the event. The organization was complex, thankfully all I did was show up and say “Yes/No” a buncha times.
I picked up the March Angeleno magazine at a newsstand and saw the half-page feature on ME there (Page 76). Jada Pinkett is on the cover.
I took the bus there and back, I hate traffic so much. I walked from Wilshire and LA Cienaga up to a half-block shy of Santa Monica Boulevard - that is a major workout for me.
I have been writing about steroids in baseball all week for the L.A. Times Opinion Section.
After trashing their future owner Eli Broad and their chief art critic Christopher Knight in the Angeleno Magazine interview, it will probably be my first and only byline there ever, so at least there are five essays and it is a high-profile subject!
